Development
A medium-sized manufacturing company was faced with the challenge of making its personnel cost planning more efficient and secure. Previously, an Access database was used, which did not allow for a standardised security concept. In an initial consultation with Power Doc, the company's existing problems and objectives were identified. This was followed by a detailed requirements workshop in which the specific needs and requirements of personnel cost planning were worked out.
Based on these requirements, Power Doc developed a prototype that envisaged replacing the Access database with a model-driven app with user-defined pages, JavaScript customisations and Power Automate flows. Once the prototype had been approved, the implementation of the project began, which also involved setting up Power BI reporting with Zebra BI and developing a comprehensive security concept for Dataverse and Power BI. In addition, the data model was created in Dataverse and a connection to Microsoft Fabric and OneLake was established.
Once development was complete, a comprehensive test phase followed to ensure that all functions worked as intended and that the security requirements were met. After successful testing, the new solution was rolled out, followed by the go-live, where the application went live. The new app now offers standardised management of the security concept, better and simpler management of personnel cost planning and seamless integration with Microsoft Fabric.
